Oh. Thank you! I know that feeling: that was how I felt when I read Sloane's Astronomy. I'd waited years to read just the perfect Black backstory, and then I read it and I was done. I don't even participate in HP fandom any more.

BUT I DIGRESS.

Chloe wants to know things, and she wants to help people, and she wants everyone else to know what she knows, too. And I think Chloe is FABULOUS, because we don't know where she is going to end up. Everyone else can have plot lines on the show all they want, but we know what happens to them all. I am obsessed with Chloe-as-Mercy, actually, but there are other options that I am quite fond of. Chloe doing everything she can to learn about everything, and sure she feels guilty but she knows ways to ends and isn't afraid to use them.

And I LOVE the thought of the journey Lex will go through to get from Smallville Lex to Comic Lex. Because we know where he is going to end up, how evil he is going to be and right now he's just shades of that Lex, powerhungry but needy, and just.

This fic was like my love letter to Gotham City, in its own way. It's been my number one fandom since I was able to read. Movies, comics, tv, all of it.

There is more to this story. I had thought, because this took me so long to write, that when I was finished, that would be it. My opus, over and done with, time to move on. But it's not. I've got so much left to say. About Lex's presidential campaign. About Chloe and Lex fighting, and her leaving, and the way they chip away at each other from thousands of miles away. About Lex in the White House, and the things that Chloe does whilst he's there. And just. After I posted this, I started making notes about where the story will go afterwards.

ENOUGH OF THIS RAMBLING.
