Olivia looks strangely young in the dim light of the crib. All subdued heels, babyblue twinset and natural makeup, he catches her putting in her earing. He's paused in the doorway, halfway through a question on the party's location. It's a pose he's observed many times at home, which is why it jars him, just a little, here in the heart of their workplace.

She smiles at him, amused at the trappings of their latest undercover job. Affluent couple. No children. Looking for a baby quietly. Discreetly. A party in the country as the guests of grateful parents in a rape case solved six months previous.

"Ready to go?" Her words and smile are warm, and for a moment he lets his mind go. Lets himself slide into character, just a bit. His eyes take her in.

His grin is possessive and wide, "Always ready for you, beautiful."

"Charmer," she laughs, smacking him on the shoulder as she moves past him into the hall. He just smiles and takes a breath of her. "C'mon, hubby. We got places to be."

Elliot laughs and follows her, trying to ignore the swing her heels put into her step. By the time they hit the front stairs of the precinct - throwing rude hand gestures at the hecklers in the bullpen - they are in step. Shoulder to shoulder, ready to take on the world as Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Elliot.

Squinting into the setting sun, he wonders when this became more real than walking up his front walkway.
