thank you for your interest in the poll in the previous entry. i actually came home, made some notes about the vid, rewatched the good bits of final cut (ie, the bits with pilots), and then watched rome.
*
speaking of rome, i've just watched the first episode. it was interesting.
show of hands who liked it, please? i can't decide. which is unusual, as usually i'm either yes! or no! about it, not this wishy-washy indecisiveness.
*
there's this vid floating around, and it uses a song called 'consider this.' can someone upload it (the song) for me? please?
*
i'm tired and feeling blah and actually feeling pretty emo too, so before i attempt to be creative, i'm going to list some things that make me happy, because there's some sort of meme going around.
things that make me happy (in no particular order), by pen, aged twenty three and a little bit
1. good vids to songs i like and in fandoms i like
2. fic
3. plush penguins
4. the muppet movie
5. cooking
6. archery (when it's not raining)
7. pride and prejudice
8. children ofsloane HAHA i mean children of dune. what a typo
9. real person fic about james and jessica from the children of dune mini series (omg you should totally try it some time)
10. breakfast on sunday mornings with my friends
11. trashy magazines.
12. tim tams
13. lying on the beach, reading (please remember to wear a hat and sunscreen)
14. post cards
15. batman
okay, i'm done, but if you'd like to leave a comment that says anything at all, that would be nice. you can ask for fic, if you'd like. or whatever takes your fancy.

and in conclusion, boys are fuzzy and cute
I have done laundry. I have reconsidered my indifference toward cats. I have done my How To Be An Angry Liberal Class homework. I have made plans to be fetched by my pet Hufflepuff instead of taking the bus tomorrow and maybe I will make her watch Firefly and eat yummy food with her hooray!
AND, I have the song: Anna Nalick - Consider This.
Oh oh. And I also watched a Starbuck vid that almost made me cry. Twice. Semi-happily. And if you haven't you should watch it and join in the dweebiness.
Re: and in conclusion, boys are fuzzy and cute
and so are dinosaurs. well. not fuzzy.

Random things that make me very happy:
- The North by Northwest music. The whole film makes me happy, but it starts with Bernard Hermann's soundtrack.
- Hiking in the Alps.
- Good vids, good fics in a favourite fandom. They always make me feel grateful.
- The very beginning of Spring and Autumn, when you can smell the change of season in the air.
Would you like a postcard from the South of France? Toulouse or Carcassone?

Dude. Yes.
Also, one day I'm coming down there specifically to try Tim Tams. After hearing Isilya, and now you, rave about them, it's a must.
I have not seen Rome yet, though my sister is supposed to be taping it for me.

How 'bout a hand for "I'd really like to see it, but, alas, I do not get that channel"? I have still managed to become somewhat obsessed, though, because of flist and because I went out and started reading Rubicon and because I'm always somewhat obsessed with Rome (it's a childhood obsession that living in the city for four months when I was in college only made worse).
Pride and Prejudice! I have been trying to enter "pride & prejudice = pr0n for girls" into my lj interests but lj does not seem interested in accepting it.

'Jane' is a fun magazine...tongue in cheek trashiness, irreverence, and humorous intelligent writing. Bonus- it's cheaper than most mags.
I was singing 'The Rainbow Connection' today.
Don't fall asleep on the beach...painful back of leg burns with a stark line mid-thigh from the bottom of shorts. M.C. Beaton's Hamish MacBeth mysteries are excellent beach reads.
Bob Slate's Stationary sells the best post-cards.
I'll bet Batman keeps the mosquito population in Gotham way down.
