A startling 43% of respondents don't know who Miss Parker is! This is unacceptable.
A Brief Introduction to Miss Parker
There is a facility in Delaware known only as The Centre. The Centre is a think tank; it's involved mostly in research. And also the stealing of small children. It had this program in place in the sixties where it took very intelligent children, and raised them to become anyone that they want (or are asked) to be.
Miss Parker's dad is the dude in charge, and so she spent a lot of time wandering around the Centre as a kid. She befriended some of the pretenders, and many years later when they were all grown up and their star pretender Jarod ran away, she was recalled to the Centre to capture him.
We gradually learn that they were very close as children, and he's really pissed off that she deserted him (she was sent away to boarding school), and she's pissed off that she had to return to Delaware just as she'd escaped it, in order to capture him. Occasionally she gets close to capturing him, but something always happens (Once, there was a tornado. Another time, there was this bank holdup).
Miss Parker drinks and smokes and handles her gun with loving but firm care. She's very rude, and forceful, and fucking AWESOME. She's a bitch, but at the same time she's caring and loving and that's kind of what Jarod's trying to crack - he's trying to find his old friend, but she hates it when they talk about their friendship, because she doesn't believe she can be that person anymore. Her father has her convinced that if she is ever soft or caring, she'll be killed by The Centre.
And finally, I have been VERY GOOD, and only included TWO pictures of the OTP, because I couldn't do a brief introduction to Miss Parker without including Jarod:
Like I said, this is just a brief introduction. To really understand Miss Parker, you should watch the series. Uh, which is called The Pretender. I understand it's available via torrent as Le Chameleon. Or you can buy it, or Netflix, or something. And there is heaps more to learn about Miss Parker. Like about her family. And her boyfriend (BLAH). And her relationship with Sydney. And other things.
And please, consider this a collaborative introduction! If anyone else would like to add words or pictures to the comments, feel free!
