costume brainstorming

the theme for this year's swancon masquerade is "retro," specifically defined as old and genre. examples given are astroboy (i have a cousin who had better be coming dressed as astroboy, or i'll serious consider never speaking to him again), batman or one of the big floating spheres from 'the prisoner.'

i rarely dress up for masquerade; last year i wore a beautiful red dress, and the year before i didn't even go. this year i would actually like to go in costume.

a physical description: i'm tallish, quite skinny, with long dark hair and skin that my mother describes as "olive."

does anyone have any ideas? i, alas, have none.

Swancon is over Easter, right? Should I go? I went once (2000 - i think?) and had a nice enough time... but the scifi is very book orientated and I don't read... I don't know, I want to catch up with fan people.

Costume: Emma Peel? (who, of course, Miss P was based on).

I've got a copy of the current draft program around somewhere, I can forward it onto you and you can see if there's anything that might interest you. We're trying to put a greater emphasis on other media this year, television and movie and a little bit GN, which might help.

Thanks - that would be great. I have an assignment due (on the sunday - we submit it electronically and it gives us a date stamp or something...) but I'll either be able to get away before hand or after it's done.
