costume brainstorming

bantha_fodderthe theme for this year's swancon masquerade is "retro," specifically defined as old and genre. examples given are astroboy (i have a cousin who had better be coming dressed as astroboy, or i'll serious consider never speaking to him again), batman or one of the big floating spheres from 'the prisoner.'
i rarely dress up for masquerade; last year i wore a beautiful red dress, and the year before i didn't even go. this year i would actually like to go in costume.
a physical description: i'm tallish, quite skinny, with long dark hair and skin that my mother describes as "olive."
does anyone have any ideas? i, alas, have none.
