i have gone too long without real person lies!
for
carrielh: five times Ben and Claudia invade each others' personal space
1. she stuffs cake into her mouth. "hey," ben says. "is there any left for me?" "mmm," she says, mouth full. she shakes her head. "it'th delithouth." crumbs spray out, and she laughs. one bite left, and she moves to throw it in her mouth, and that's when he pounces, arm outstretched.
the cake ends up smeared into aeryn's pants, and filming gets delayed fifteen minutes whilst she gets changed, but it's worth it to see her outrage.
he just wishes he'd gotten some cake.
2. "excited about moving home?" claudia asks. "not really," he says, and reaches for her smoothie. "i prefer it here." "it's the sunshine, right?" she says. "you pasty-faced americans." "it's the company," he says, and passes the smoothie back across the table.
she grins at him, and it's the truth.
3. she's late to her first real on the show read through, which is a great way to start. she panics a little as she gets lost in the maze of rooms that she swears have moved since she was last here, until some kind soul points her in the right direction. she pokes her head around the door. "sorry," she says, recognising a couple of people. "this canadian traffic is too fast paced for me." she wants to say more, but finds she can't speak due to her ribcage being crushed by a big oaf of a man. "can't breathe!" she says. ben loosens his grip, but doesn't put her down; he sweeps her off her feet, like always. he kisses her; kisses her hair, and her cheeks, and blows raspberries in her ears, and she can hear the laughter of her new castmates behind him. "you smell, did you know that?" she says. "it must be this fresh canadian air, dulling your brains. sydney was much better for you." she babbles quietly and breathes in the hollow of his neck as the read through continues around him. "this is vala's cue," someone calls, and she slaps his head. he sits down, and someone passes her a script and she reads, her head on his shoulder and her back to the room.
he smells like home, and she closes her eyes.
4. they're waiting to be called onto the set when they hear the news. it's just a rumour on the breeze, but it's not wholly unexpected. "this is your fault, you know," says ben. "you're a bad luck charm." he pushes his thumb into the pad of her right foot. "i think it's your fault," claudia counters, and shifts in her seat. "oh, yeah, right there." she sighs. "everyone knows it's bad luck to have an american on set."
5. she falls asleep on his shoulder, and he kisses her forehead.
