I have just read the most darling Narnia fic, Skies of Couple-Colour, about Peter. And I am such a terrible person, that I thoroughly enjoyed it, but honestly thought, I would have enjoyed it more if it had hinted at Susan/Peter, or Lucy/Edmund. And isn't that terrible? It was an awesome fic, written in tone-perfect Lewis style, and I just kept thinking about what I wished I was reading as well.

And it's sort of fannish entitlement, but I'm not demanding of it to the author, so it's not really. It's more that I read for pairings, I suppose, although I love awesome characterisation. And I feel guilty about it - I recently compiled a huge list of fanvids, and I tried not to recommend any pairing-specific ones (although of course it was inevitable that there would be one or two), because I felt people would look disdainfully towards me if I rambled about pairings for hours. I forget that the rest of the world isn't in it for the pairings, and is in it for other reasons. That's not to say that I'm not in it for other reasons, too. Dr Who fandom, for example, I'm there almost exclusively for the Dr Who, not for the pairing-ness of it all. Same goes for Farscape. SGA, on the other hand, all I care about is Teyla/Sheppard.

Which reminds me. If anyone has any Teyla/Sheppard (I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong) recs, please feel free to make them now.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] slytherincess has a poll (with no pollish bits) here about Incest Fic, and it's all about the HP but everyone should go talk at her about other fandoms just for the fun of it.

In other news, if anyone is interested in taking over [livejournal.com profile] galacticanews, they should email Meyerlemon. Deinin is super sick (physically), and kind of sick of it, and it's turned into a bit of a chore for me and I'm kind of over BSG, and Meyer's never really been that into it. I mean, I still like BSG. And I'm still in love with pilots. But my tolerance for stupidity is not really that high, so. Yeah.

I was going to talk about anonymity on the internets, and also about the problem with authors of speculative fiction, but I've got a con to attend, so I should go catch the bus. If my beta gets back to me, I'm hoping to have some fic for you this evening. Late this evening. Or something.

I always get impatient when I send things off to beta. I find it really frustrating to wait, as if I'm in a limbo of some sort, until it gets sent back to me with notes all over the place and then I have to work on the stupid thing again. The longest I've waited is two weeks (thanks for moving, Claira!), and I didn't look at the fic at all during that time, but every day I looked at LJ and thought, "Is today the day someone will post a fic similar yet better to mine?" It's a complex, I know. Anyway, the wait is always worth it, because I've currently got two very awesome and thorough betas, no matter how long they take. And having to wait is better than having no beta at all. I've been using betas for so long now, I get paranoid when I post without using one, because I know that I'm just not that good a writer without the hand holding, and without someone there to smooth out my words.

I feel bad for talking, so before I go, some things!

Caps from The Cutting Edge

The Age of Aquarius, a s3 TWW fic, featuring Donna and Josh and a cast of senior White House staffers.

This Storm website is looking for more fic about Storm, because it hasn't been updated for a while.

[livejournal.com profile] shadowserenity has a poll on SFF pairings.

Lizzen is busy flailing because she's just found out that Ultraviolet, more than just being a movie with Milla Jojovich in it, also is about vampires, but I thought both that everybody knew that, and also that it's a remake of the UK mini. Can any one confirm that it's a remake of the UK mini?

Finally, if you're bored, you should write me drabbles as presents. I am in a funny mood right now. I really really want Pyro/Rogue or Kitty/Piotr, or some Narniaaaaa. You know how it goes.

BYE LJ. See you on the other side.
