Today I mainlined all 13 episodes of Merlin!
Merlin is a moron! Here is my summary of the final episode:
( A MORON )
OKAY SO WHATEVER, MERLIN YOU DUMBARSE.
Anthony Stewart Head is doing a lot of scenery chewing, which is always good times. He gives some great exposition in the first episode, all "I FREED THIS LAND FROM SORCERY. THERE WAS A DRAGON. THAT'S WHY IT'S BANNED. AND THEN WE HAD A PARTY." I love him.
Our Lady of Hotness Morgana is HOT. I like the Morgana and Arthur friendship/tension, I think the only fic I'm really interested in (enough to look for it) is Arthur and Morgana being BFFs. Gwen was cool. Actually I kind of like the idea of Morgana/Gwen, and Gwen/Arthur.
MERLIN IS A MORON I CAN'T EVEN
The Merlin and Arthur thing is cute, and if Merlin WASN'T A MORON perhaps I'd be more interested in it but no.
Overall the show is okay. Everyone is phoning in the panto-performances, but it's okay for some light-hearted television viewing, so long as you recognise that the names are familiar but they bear no resemblance whatsoever to any sort of British and/or Celtic myths. There are some race issues, which made it a bit awkward, I might talk about them later.
