Her eyes light up as she sees him, despite his insipid new finery. "You're back early, Jim," she says, holding out her chained hands for him. He doesn't give her a reply as he sets the key into the lock, twisting it slightly before the shackles fall of her bruised wrists.

"I trust that the plan went—" she continues before he cuts her off with the motion of his hand. She frowns, preferring the talkative James Norrington covered in dirt, sweat and twisted intentions to this silent officer of Her Majesty's Navy.

With another gesture of his hand, she sees that she's been politely allowed out of her prison cell and into the early morning sun. Anamaria gives him a sly curtsy before brusquely walking past him, her hands on her hips.

He leads her to the docks where a small ship awaits and a quiet, yet reasonably dangerous-looking crew mill about on deck, waiting for something. He finally speaks: "This is yours."

She eyes him warily. "Mine? I had thought—"

"I serve other masters now," James replies shortly. "I am allowed few courtesies, and this –" and he gestures to the ship, "—be one of them."

Reaching out to slide her fingers along his cheek, one last caress, she smirks. "You'll be back, love."

Without another look, she turns her attention to her ship and enjoys the sight of it. Some things work out in the end, she thinks.

I wrote a bit of the pairing, but it were yonks ago.

I must admit, my bizarre little OTP heart construes the absence of both Groves and Anamaria from the movie as "HEE! They've gone off merchant pirating together! TRU LUV!" Yep, I'm a sap.
