Please discuss the theory re: Lee and a lack of underpants. Thank you.

I just guffawed so hard, you wouldn't believe it. It took a second to understand what you were talking about.

But, I assume the ship has some stuff like that on hand, since people were living on it and would need more or new personal items like that. And quite a few pilots died, leaving a lot of things behind...ew.

Oh, I'm sure that's true, but ew. No, the point of this post is to get QoT to tell me why she thinks (based on spoilers from upcoming episodes) that Lee does not wear underpants. I am awaiting her explanation with baited breath.

And now, so am I. :D

Because that's curious. Very curious indeed. I want screencaps along with this explanation.

*Popping in from friends' friends list*. QoT and I are probably thinking about the same ep, and I agree that it looked like he was going commando. I'll let QoT elaborate on that delightful scene. :) But I really hope he wears underpants in his flight suit, because the sauna effect...ew.

Delightful, huh?

It pleases me how much thought we're giving to everything in this fandom. We can't just admire him going commando and the fine figure he cuts - we have to make sure it works! It's great.

And feel free to pop by anytime :o)

My opinion? Well, since we DO see him in actual boxing trunks at one point, that boxers are probably a bit more his "idiom" than briefs. But I think QoT will give us the best analysis of this burning question. chafe, chafe

Tight boxers. I'm positive. :) Remember what Starbuck wore at the end of You can't go home again, when they took off her flight suit and she was lying on the stretcher? He wears the same type, that is when he bothers to wear underpants. And they hug his bum in the most delicious manner. How do I know? I just know.

See, you are a very wise and prescient woman and wholly correct in your analysis of Lee’s pants – as this picture demonstrates to perfection Lee's pants (British pants) when he bothers to wear them, are indeed snug fitting. Examine the silhouette of those trousers and you will see that you are correct!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! OK, so you know the scene where he's wearing just the towel? In Episode 11? (Heh! We ALL know and love that scene ...) Anyway, he's standing behind Starbuck there (the woman has a will of IRON!) and reaches into the closet, from where he pulls out a pair of trousers; he tosses away the towel, bends over in trouser putting on mode, and then he's buckling a belt. But he doesn't bend over twice. There's only ONE garment donned in this scene and that's his trousers. Ergo, I assume that for the following scenes, Lee isn't wearing any underwear. When he's threatening Tom Zarek? No underwear. Standing behind the President as she reads the results of the vote? No underwear ...

That's my theory :)

I know boys who wear underwear under their towels.

I'm not saying your theory is wrong, mind you. Your theory is blatantly brilliant. And, for someone who admits to not remembering much of the later episodes, very clear.

Your brilliance, as always, astounds me, oh destroyer of fandoms.

In my world, Apollo is pantsless

But see, he's still drying himself off with that towel, so am I to assume that he's wearing damp underwear, or that he's wearing none? I choose the latter - in my world, Captain Apollo is pantsless (I think it fits with the rebellious streak he demonstrated by reading Zarek's book because reading banned books=going commando... Yes!)

And, for someone who admits to not remembering much of the later episodes, very clear.

I may have watched that particular scene more than once ...

Well, I don't know that he is ALWAYS pants-free - just that I feel strongly he is in this interesting condition for much of Episode 11 ;) (I am a scientist, after all, and will not speculate past the facts ;))

Regardless of whether or not he goes commando during the day. . . what exactly would he (and the others, I suppose) sleep in? Even w/ that privacy curtain closed. . .

Um. yeah. Sorry. I'm back now.

What sort of underpants does he wear to sleep? Discuss.

I would agree with that sentiment!

My personal opinion being - co-ed bunkrooms and all - he has to preserve the remaining sanity of the female pilots (and probably a couple of the males) by keeping a pair of nice boxers to sleep in.

Silky ones.

Mmmm. See, I really want to see more fic set in the barracks. Most everything I write has been there, and I want to see other people's takes. Theory on the arrangements, and that of the showers. We've seen the bathrooms.. I think I'll pose this question on my blog...

Hmmmm! Well, that depends on whether he's wearing any during the day, I shouldn't wonder... I mean, I can't imagine he'd wander about pantsless all day and pull 'em on to sleep...

So, sweatpants but no pants. That's my vote :) Captain Commando strikes again!!!

See, the "problem" with commando in sweatpants is that you can very easily see any time their better half. . . notices the wind blowing.

Not that that would always be a problem. Or to be discouraged.

Okay you do win, this is the best fandom discussion I've seen of BSG in my 4 months of being a fan *G*
And yes KLG I required dozens upon dozens of rewatchings and zoomings and freeze framings to make absolutely 100% sure that was our dear Captain No Pants and DAMN if that didn't make me happy! *G*

Love your Children of Dune banner btw :)
