HEY SO.
I need a list of characters who are Chinese/of Chinese descent in English language texts. So far I have:
Jubilation Lee
Cho Chang
Huang (from SVU)
Isabella (from the recent Miami Vice movie)
Whoever Michelle Yeoh played in Tomorrow Never Dies
...
I would appreciate any and all assistance with this.

He was in "Bulletproof Monk" though I don't know that he was specifically Chinese in that. He'll also be the pirate Sao Feng in the next Pirates movie.
I think someone mentioned "Romeo Must Die" already (mmm, Russell Wong....) And I'm sure I'm blanking on more of those pseudo-Hong Kong action flicks. Any of Jet Li's other English-language roles.
And the venerable Kim Chan (was "the Ancient" mentioned above in Kung Fu). he's been in a billion things, usually playing the Wise Old Chinese Guy. Though my husband tells me he used to play Japanese in propaganda films during WWII.
I remember writing a long rant about the series "Strange World". There was a character known only as the "Japanese Woman" played by Vivian Wu. And there was no reason, that I could tell, that she had to be Japanese at all. Why couldn't she have been the "Chinese Woman"? A lot of times the name is our only indicator of specific origin anyway, so I don't really care, but there, it was so blatant and pointless, it irked.
