I just did a little tidying of my flist, fiddling with my filters and removing some people and things. ANYWAY, whilst I was doing this, I noticed heaps of ljs have me friended, and I don't know who they are. Of course I see the number of 'friend of' creeping up, but I never know who these ljs are, and I'm not really an automatic friender, so.

This is me: I'm Pen, I live in Australia. I love Narnia and Children of Dune and The Pretender, and approximately one million other tiny fandoms (and also BSG). I write fic, and love looking at pretty pictures. In this journal, I try to keep things relatively light, nothing but meandering meta (and mindless squee) regarding the texts I enjoy, and the occasional rambling as to my nationality and my ethnicity and my sport.

Please use this opportunity to ask any questions (although you can ask them any time), and also to let me know who you are (also something you can do at any time)!

Hallo :-> I'm Julianna but everyone calls me Jules (the dh and a couple of friends call me Lee... there were alot of Julies around, growing up lol), and I hail from The Great White North (aka Canada). I fell over LJ a year and a half ago while looking for fanfic for BSG (I was a voracious FFer for a different fandom: Jason/Elizabeth from the US soap General Hospital and it suddenly occured to me that maybe there was FF for BSG. Boy, was there. :->) and found not only great FF here, but good meta for BSG as well, which was great since I had no one to discuss BSG with in real life (no one I knew watched - this has since changed drastically - yay!).

I think I found you through leda13's journal. If I remember correctly, I really enjoyed your (and stars_like_dust's) fics, especially PILOTS. I am a total FF snob, considering I have a BA in English writing and communications from half a million years ago, and I can tell 1-2 paragraphs into a story if something is well written or sucks. (LOL there's the snob coming out to play.) I don't write or beta any FF myself anymore - time, energy and real life issues - but there's nothing like sitting down at the computer with a tall glass of something frosty and a sandwich, and chatting with friends on the other side of the world about fannish glees.

I enjoy not only your BSG FF and BSG related posts, but you've sucked me into your other fic (a talented writer has talent in writing just about anything LOL), and I find your posts about Down Under / Australia interesting, as well; in fact, the one you wrote yesterday about your heritage/nationality/racism-stereotype was verra illuminating, and reminded me of conversations I've had with my in-laws (my dh is American, from NY), who I consider to be pseudo-racist, as well.
