I've been pondering the multi-fandom communities like [livejournal.com profile] crack_van and [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto. So now I have a question. Do you (personally) think that we have a big enough fanfic community/network of people writing great fic to warrant being a regular fandom at crack_van? According to the crack_van rules, to become a regular fandom we have to have eight people willing to rec, and be able to rec no less than four recs a month (one a week). See, because I rec, like, a fic (or two fics) a day on [livejournal.com profile] galacticanews, I totally think it's doable.

Opinions?

Also, if BSG were to become a regular fandom on crack_van, who would rec? Volunteers here, please.

ETA: Our list thus far: [livejournal.com profile] bantha_fodder, [livejournal.com profile] trajictale, [livejournal.com profile] stars_like_dust, [livejournal.com profile] ilanabean42, [livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl, [livejournal.com profile] angualupin, [livejournal.com profile] myalchod, [livejournal.com profile] lyssie, [livejournal.com profile] ancarett, [livejournal.com profile] oruhamiko, [livejournal.com profile] fairestcat and [livejournal.com profile] zeplum. Maybe [livejournal.com profile] woodface.

Wow. That's a year's worth of reccers right there.

I know Lost just became a regular on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van from the time they were posted as a regular fandom to the time recc's actually started being made was about a month or a month and half so I think a nice build up of fics could happen in that time. With the US about three weeks from seeing the season finale, I'm sure a lot of fics will come after that.

And I'd totally take a turn at recc'ing. Done Farscape a few times and it's quite fun.

I know I've said this in chat, but I'd be happy to rec. (And we totally have enough fic in this fandom to have a place at crack_van.)

I'd be willing to do it later down the line, say by the time Season 2 is airing in the US.

I think it might need another season to get a stronger fan base. Dunno. I'd be willing to rec but I read way too little at the moment. Maybe that's because most seems to be Kara/Lee? ;o)

I'm trying to widen my horizons - I read a Lee/Roslin this evening, and it seems really well written but OMG my horror at trying to read it...I just couldn't do it. I am a PATHETIC FAN.

*snickers* Most of the Lee/Roslin fics I tried to read were just horrible. It might not be you ;o)

I'd probably be willing to do it. There seems to be a decent amount of fic out there already.

I'd do it a little bit down the line - because so much fic has spoilers through the first season that I haven't read yet, that I plan to go back to.

Sure, why not? It would force me to get my act together and actually rec in my own journal, which is my way of keeping links to all the fics I like.

I might well rec, but that would have to wait until I had internet at home (damn it, housemates, get that wireless router NOW! any day, they say ...), because currently I take things home to read and forget about them by the time I'm back on the Net again. :D

(So that's a yes, once my resources get together. Verizon needs to hurry up and mail the damn thing, or have it arrive, or SOMETHING, before I go insane.)

I'd be happy to rec. I read nearly everything in this fandom I can find, which isn't that difficult at this point.

I could certainly rec and do rec for [livejournal.com profile] crack_van often in other fandoms.
