there's some sort of 'post about a female character you love' thing going on, so i thought i would say:

Miss Parker is well-educated and confident and sure of what she thinks and what she wants. She knows how to handle a gun and she knows how to torture and she knows Japanese and Ukranian and she can be so subtle, so soft and malleable that you don't see the danger until it's too late. She is also damaged, her father probably arranged a hit on her lover and her twin is a complete and utter nutter who probably thinks inappropriate things about her, and she has some sort of crazy love/hate thing going on with Jarod. Her pride is so compelling, she is beautiful and her weaknesses will probably make her stronger, I think, and when she's ready on her own she'll escape the Centre, or she'll die trying.

She is my favourite character ever, no qualifications.

Sam Carter is an incredibly intelligent, kickass, confident and beautiful character. She's a bit of a Mary Sue [ok, she's very Mary Sue-ish]. She rides a motorbike, blows up a star, looks so very competently sexy handling weapons, has a spaceship named after her, is the brains of SG-1, is brain-twins with Daniel, makes a hilarious "reproductive organs on the inside" speech when she meets Jack and bonds with Cassie. She has her own problems with struggling on occasion with being a good soldier and being a scientist, she has issues with her Dad and her brother, has a black!widow thing going on but episodes such as Emancipation show just how much of an awesomely capable character she is [along with the ep with Hathor where her and Janet kick butt].

Darn, think I'll just link here, you said everything I would say. She's my faaaaavorite. Especially when she isn't 'nice' and says what everyone is thinking, but hasn't got the guts to say.
