I have just watched the Stargate: Atlantis episode 'The Intruder,' and as such I need to make two observations.
The first is that I am a little bit in love with Carson Beckett. He is a little bit afraid, but terribly awesome, and I think he's fabulous. I need to have an icon of him, and I need to write this fic that I have an idea for.
The second observation is about the pairing of Elizabeth/John. For some episodes now I have been understanding why it is that people ship Elizabeth/John, but I have been refusing to be swayed by the pairing. It was making me uncomfortable. At first I thought it was merely my stubborness borne out of a love for John/Teyla (and a strong affection for Ronon/Elizabeth), but this episode has made me reconsider. I think what was actually making me uncomfortable about the concept of the pairing was the Elizabeth, to the best of her knowledge, was in a long term, committed relationship. Clearly Simon did not feel the same (or he may have felt the same, and changed his mind or his feelings, faced as he was with his continuing mundane life, as compared to her adventures in another galaxy), but Elizabeth, at least, believed that, and I think it's clear that she believed it quite strongly. And I know it's over, her relationship with Simon, so perhaps the discomfort I have had in regards the John/Elizabeth pairing will now disappear, but we shall see.
And now I get to meet Ronon. FINALLY.
