I am not here. BUT.

I don't CARE about the HP:GoF trailer. Far more important is the trailer for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Also, I have reuploaded my Narnia icon:

this is not the lion you are looking for I CAN SEE THE INCEST IN THIS BOOK TOO.

And just in case you think I'm kidding:

Then, after a bit, Susan came down the tree. She and Peter felt pretty shaky when they met and I won't say there wasn't kissing and crying on both sides. But in Narnia no one thinks any the worse of you for that. (At the end of Chapter Twelve, Peter's First Battle)

And I'd just like to make it clear that I'm in Narnia for lots of other reasons too. I'm just pointing out the (possible) incest to make a certain person squirm.

CARRY ON. I SHALL BE BACK IN A FEW WEEKS.

How was the trailer? I've been kind of excited and kind of scared about that movie.

Sending you many good-dissertation vibes!!

Trailer was great! Watch it now! Actually, first thirty seconds BORING as it's all Pevensie's arriving at the house, and the housekeeper all. "QUIET." But then it's lots of shots of the movie and SO EXCITED.

Thank you for the vibes. I'm feeling very positive about it.

Oooh! That does look excellent. I think technology may finally be at a point where someone can do these movies without having them look utterly cheesy (I'm remembering the BBC versions of my youth, and that was just sad). Lucy is so tiny! And Susan has dark hair... it's so weird, because even though (IIRC) Lewis describes her with dark hair, Pauline Baynes illustrated her as blonde, and it's stuck in my head now. Hee. Oh, how I adored those books, and read them a billion jillion times (which is why I'm ignoring your incest allusion, because dude... that ain't right ;) ).

And I saw on a website that the same company has acquired the rights to Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series. Hmm. That would be very interesting... those are right next to the Narnia books on my bookshelf. I guess they want to strike while the Harry Potter iron is hot, so to speak.

OK. Letting you get back to your work now. :) Thanks for the heads-up... I didn't have any idea the trailer was premiering.

OMG BBC of DOOM.

I'm ignoring your incest allusion

It's okay. I'll probably never mention it again. Because in Narnia I am actually all about writing canonically. Like, in Lewis' style and all that.

I guess they want to strike while the Harry Potter iron is hot, so to speak.

Are you implying that they're the same as HP? BLASPHEMY.

You know, for some reason it never occurred to me that Narnia fanfic would be out there. Hee.

And no! They're not the same as HP, either the Narnia books or the Dark is Rising Sequence. I'm just saying that, to the untrained network exec eye, they could be viewed in the same light. There's more of a market for fantasy at the moment than there used to be. (Maybe I should have said LOTR instead of HP.) Those fantasy movies... they're so hot right now! /Mugatu

Unless, of course, you meant I was being blasphemous in comparing good Christian books to those Satanic, devil-worshipping wizard books, in which case... yeah! I totally was! ;)

I actually liked (and still like) the bbc version. A lot of things the bbc made around the same time have been real classics, and despite the prettyness, I'm still doubting the movie can knock the series from the little pedestal in my head.

I didn't think they did a bad job overall... it was just that the animals looked SO BAD. Especially, like, Trufflehunter. As I recall. It has been awhile. :)

Mwah, well it was just men in a suit. Maugrin looked bad, I will admit XD I quite liked the way the beavers faces were done though, if not the rest of them. You have to admire the make-up and effort that went into it :)

Two out of HOW MANY OMG. That's what I thought. It is interesting what compelled you to post, though. I think I need to re-read those books.

READ THEM YES. It won't take you long, they're nice and short. And you can skip HHB, which helps.

I don't even want to know what those guys in your icon are doing.

It's just Turk and JD from Scrubs, jumping and hugging, sort of. It makes me giggle when I see it, which is the basis for most of my icons outside of BSG.
