tell me what you're wearing today (or what you wore, if you're in your pyjamas). (this is a new obession courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] cbackson)

i am wearing a knee-length black cotton skirt with crazy frills on the bottom, knee high black socks with a fake "zip" crocheted into the back, red sneakers, red and yellow and blue and green and orange striped turtle neck, and black pearl earrings. please remember that i have to look presentable and be able to go shooting in the outfits i wear when i leave the house, so.

also, it was only 0.2C at 07:00. i hate winter.

later, i'll tell you all about my birthday.

...*shrugs*

Wearing:
purple socks with 'torrid' in white on the bottom and little white frills at the top.
really ugly lime/olive green knee-length shorts chopped from a pair of pants.
black t-shirt with 'Lila Lives' and Lila Cheney on the front and the Lila Lives Tour Dates list on the back.
fake-steel-rimmed reading glasses.

I was wearing nice glack slacks and a nice turqoise blouse. But, er, it's warm. Or was. *is cold again*

That's an interesting obsession you've got there.

To work, I wore olive greenish long pants (slacks, whatever you call them), a black sweatshirt over a navy blue tanktop and black sandals. Upon coming home, I took off the sweatshirt and switched the pants for dark grey cotton excercise-type ones with white stripes on the sides and my school name on one leg. Oh, and tan-colored hairbands. I'm boring.

HAHA you are so bored.

I was wearing my favourite slouch jeans, with a very, barely noticible stripe in them, and a white singlet, white havaianas, and my UQ bright red hoodie with "UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND" on it in varsity style, navy letters. (With white trim, if you want that much detail.) And silver studs. And two bobby pins.

That was because I was in the car. Now I have taken off the jumper and have a neat little green shirt that's really hard to describe, save that it's soft and has a crossover front and leaves most of my singlet showing.

How is work? ;)

JAMMIES!

Oh, wait, what I wore. Um. I was incredibly boring today: light denim jeans with the bottoms folded up and safety-pinned, 'cause I'm too lazy to hem them, and a plain navy blue t-shirt. Tortoiseshell rimmed glasses, because I am frelling blind. And hair spikes. And, well, I put my cheap black Birkenstock knock-offs on when they insisted I wear shoes, but otherwise avoided them.

(I need my sewing machine. *weeps* Must reclaim it and sew more.)

Wearing:

Dark blue jeans (sort of a dingy wash with copper penny colored stitching) with a well loved brown leather belt, a white, moss, aqua, pale yellow (trust me, it all goes together) vertical striped linen tunic top - sleeves just past the elbow - from Old Navy with gold thread woven through it, and a strand of cobalt blue beads. No shoes, headed to bed soon. :) Though I had on my cute black flats on today that have a sandle back and cutouts and a bow on the toe (think sort of ballet-like shoes with a regular sole and only a strap for the back).

Rather fashionably blah of me today. Everything is dirty though and I haven't worked myself up enough to do laundry. *sigh* I have to wear shirts with sleeves most days because of work, otherwise I'd be in tanktops all the time now. Blah. You hate winter, I hate summer. I'll trade you!

Grey retroish Yosemite tshirt, with blue ringers.
Pair of my fat jeans.
Flip flops.
And the heavy cotton green jacket I always wear with endless pockets of doom.

Now I'm just in blue plaid flannel pants.. and still the Yosemite tshirt.

And my SmartGlove. Which is my BFF. <3<3

It's not as restrictive as a brace, and has little ergonomic beads at the wrist. I love it. It has completely saved my wrist from like.. falling off.

  • My only decent jeans,

  • Large floopy leaf-green shirt with white pinstripes,

  • Dodgy Reeboks,

  • Waist-length faux-beatenup sheeps'-leather jacket which [livejournal.com profile] grahame has repeatedly said "my God, what a stylish jacket!" to (it is quite),

  • Needless to say, underclothes,

  • No jewellery, rings, watches or adornments of any other kind.

You get to wear jeans to work?

Can you end a phrase with 'to' even when it is followed by a bracket? (eg which grahame has repeatedly said "my God, what a stylish jacket!" to)

Because I am nosy and incorrigable, what kind of ring are you getting?

Yes.

Not technically. Should be "to which [livejournal.com profile] grahame foo blah foo ...". But digital communication is conversation dude (so I can also start the last sentence of this paragraph with a conjunction and end it with a stupidly long parenthetical comment).

I had a white gold engagement ring made for Max, with fourteen diamonds arranged evenly around the band in square divisions. The concept for my wedding ring is an "evolutionary precursor" of Max's engagement ring - some deviations from perfect geometry (angled divisions etc.), some scratched finish divisions, some titanium divisions, and only a few asymmetrically placed diamonds that are secretly arranged in a manner which I find numerologically significant. Also, it will be larger, chunkier, and generally more masculine.

Excellent. I love white gold. Not that you are looking for approval from me, I just thought I'd mention it. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but my (engagement) ring is white gold.

I like the description of your ring. I'd say it sounds pretty, but I wouldn't want to threaten your masculinity. *g*

Oh, absolutely. Can't stand yellow gold - it can only be white. It might just be titanium, though. Have to see what the jeweller says (Ti costs less as a material, but Au costs less to work).

"I'd say it sounds pretty, but I wouldn't want to threaten your masculinity. *g*"

It's not my masculinity you'd be threatening, but that of my co-workers. More a case of me not wanting to pursue a professional career surrounded entirely by cautiously het males wearing the faggiest fagging ring that ever fagged (because you know I would otherwise ... OK maybe not).

Today, I wore what I'll be wearing pretty much every day until the end of August:
--navy blue polyester pants
--white t-shirt
--white button-down shirt with collar and shoulder patches
--black boots
--black belt
--and let's not forget the required ID badge and name tag.

I love my job, I love my job, I love my job...
