Reason why I Love My (Sunburnt) Country #693: Because yesterday's poll on the ninemsn page was, "Should Melbourne Cup Day be a national holiday?" For those of you who don't understand what that means, they were asking if we should have a public holiday so that we could sit around and watch a horse race and bet on it.

But in Berra it is all but a holliday, no work has been done by anyone since 10am, with the rest of the day being taken up with snail races, cheap bubbly, and betting. Oh and work pays for all but the betting and the snails.
