Further to my notes about Voldemort's Chinese name being shen mi ren, my attention has been drawn to this site, which has the names of many of Harry Potter's friends in Chinese, and does some other interesting things in Japanese and Vietnamese.

I'm having a lot of troubles with my fic at the moment, because I am trying to write it in English, mindful of the fact that I intend to translate it into Chinese when I am finished, and it makes setence construction quite difficult as I am prone to write (in English) using methods that don't quite work in written Chinese.

I updated my recs journal with 3 HP, 1 PotC, 1 GO, and 1 that might possibly be a BtVS/RPF crossover. Possibly.

Hello, I read your post through hp_babel (https://www.dreamwidth.org/users/hp_babel/) and I just want to say thank you for providing such a useful link. Chinese is my first language and I'm contemplating writing an English/Chinese fic at some point. The name translation page will help tremendously!

Sorry, should have been more clear. There's a link on comms that shows members' recent posts. I was browsing through that and saw your post. I must say again, very helpful =)

Uhm. Hi. Not to disturb you or anything, but do you happen to know what the Chinese translation uses for the verb 'to owl' ? As in, "Harry owled Sirius" or whatever.
