Everyone seems to sound so much more uncertain about themselves and the prevailing reality when they do one of these audio posts. You also sound more Australian than I would've expected.
You sound like you, but recording and audio compression suck out some of the timbre of your voice. Making your tone sound flatter (and therefore more Australian) than you generally do.
I don't remember people and places as they are ... I realised the other day that a lot of my visual memory is in black and white. And I usually remember my friends in a significantly more dazzling and wonderful form than they turn out to be when I meet up with them again - not to cast aspersions on your dazzleometer readings.
PPS OMG. I didn't realise we could actually use '船' like that. That is very interesting. And I started laughing, so the boy asked what was going on, and I accidently told him the story in Chinese, and he just looked at me, and I was like, "Sorry. Guess it doesn't translate."
Okay, after hearing yours it is *totally* okay for you to make fun of my accent.
And I hate that I have to wait till tonight to listen to the other post, just because my stupid work computer speakers don't have a blasted headphones port. Woe.
Hee, 50% I don't like my accent either, so no worries. (The fact that I only gained my real US regional accent in my 20s helps with whole, "What the hell happened?" thing.)
I listened on very, very low volume which means I can hear tones and whatnot, but not anything valuable.

This is what the internets do to you. I was not a shameless hussy before I found LJ. Okay, clearly I'm lying about that last bit, but WHATEVER.
