bantha_fodderOkay, so, there's this meme going around, where you talk about the fic you've written in the past year. And people have been doing it for the last two, maybe even three weeks, which makes no sense to me because here I am, posting it on the first of January, and I wrote and posted another fic just yesterday! So, you know. Good thing I waited.
This includes a reveal of my yuletide fic, because the names are up, now.
Because I posted a bazillion fics, I have decided to start with a sampling. If you are new to my journal, I recommend the following:
Favourite Fic over all: A Restaurant with White Tablecloths. This is both my favourite, and I believe my best. And you should all read it. It is Smallville/Gotham City, but it is so much more than that to me. Not to sound weepy, but I am ridiculously proud of this fic.
Assorted Favourites:
That I Should Suffer. Kara and Lee and the ways they survive. I love this fic because it was one of my very first BSG fics.
Divided, But with Half a Heart. Leto and Ghanima. I love this fic so much, so, so much. Dune is one of my favourite pieces of literature, I do not know why, and I rewatch the Children of Dune miniseries all the time.
Out From Under (天高皇远) I love Cho Chang. I don't understand why people don't like her, and I love her. This is about Cho, just living her life and trying to understand.
Joining Hands as Nations. Queen Susan is beloved of all the world.
Broken Glasses. Miss Parker chases Jarod again and again.
Most Under-Appreciated: Out From Under (天高皇远) This is about Cho Chang, a girl just trying to come to terms with her life.
Most Fun: Buzzkill. Kat and Hotdog just want to have sex.
BattleStar Galactica:
I love BSG. I love it so much. I entered BSG fandom almost a year ago now, and everything that I have written in BSG I have written this last year. I have written thirty three pieces of BSG fiction since February 2005.
The first was Not For All Your Sins, a crossover with Sandman.
That I Should Suffer, Kara and Lee and the end of the world. This is Claira's favourite of my fic.
Proud of a Good Time. Helo and Kara, frak buddies for years, just out having a great time of it.

stars_like_dust assaulted me and decided to write it with me, giving it awesome depth and the Cally and Dee that I love. I believe this was the first threesome fic in the new fandom.

Nothing But the Rain, just an experiment in fic with Kara.
Never Be Warm Again. This fic was awesomely long, and also written with Claira. Writing it was fabulous fun, though. We just ranted back and forth and made up things and rearranged the fic. It is angstcakes, this fic, because hello, it is the end of the world.
The Last Poem I Write. Cally/Lee, and I got feedback that said, I don't Cally/Lee, but I liked this one, and I said, that's because it's secretly Kara/Lee. And it is.
In the Shadows of Quiet Lanes. Kara and Helo on Caprica. Written before the new season started.
Believe in What You See. Boomer, planetside during liberty.
Make it Your Best Lie. Kara and Lee and SEX OMG. Written with Claira.
A Litany of Love Letters. My love letter to Kara and Lee, and the reasons Kara loves him.

All the Old Habits Have Gone. Tom Zarek on the run with Roslin. He hates her, but she serves her purposes.
Twenty Random Facts about the BattleStar Galactica. Based on the meme.
The Oppressions (aka Kara and Lee having sex): Directions Sweat Under the Sheets. Stand Tall (Move Through). There But For. Past is Present is (patterns drawn in ink). These came about after someone protested that people writing Kara/Lee were oppressing them.
The Time It Takes To Come Undone. Gaeta/Dee. I love this fic a lot. A LOT.
See You Walk Away (Again). Lee is a bit of a bitch.
Leave it All Behind. Kara and Lee on a roadtrip before the end of the world.
Digging A Hole (nothing romantic about the hours we keep). This is mostly about Lee, but a little about pilots.
Buzzkill. Kat and Hotdog and a small contraceptives problem.

Second Guessing. Hannibal King.
DCU:
In the Works (lift the lid and take the thing apart). This is about Selina Kyle, because I love her and she is so complicated and she loves Bruce Wayne very much, but he is a wanker.
A Restaurant With White Tablecloths, a crossover with Smallville.
Dune:
Divided, But with Half a Heart. Leto and Ghanima. I love this fic so much, and I have been trying for five minutes to write a summary but I cannot, so an excerpt: At council, he directs Farad'n to bring the worm on Salusus Secundus back to Arrakis. Farad'n complies happily, and Leto is suspicious.
He sets more watchers on the Royal Scribe.
Motion and the Full Sensation. This is Wing!Fic. Ghanima and her brother's changes.
Learning to Cheat Time. Leto and his sister's children.
Harry Potter:
Out From Under (天高皇远). Cho Chang, at home, to Hogwarts, and after Cedric. I LOVE CHO CHANG.
What You Can. This was my attempt to write about Cedric Diggory. I wasn't very happy with it at the time, but in time it has grown on me and now I love it.
A Brief Respite (from the war), Cedric and Hermione is a ship that makes little to no sense to me, but I wrote this forkoalathebear (KOALAS ARE NOT BEARS) because she is fabulous and a delight.

The Price of All These Parts, written because Sloane loves it when our favourite coppers go undercover. When I write long fic, it's because as I write I IM it to Sloane and she goes "MORE MORE MORE" and I keep writing long after I would have given up in laziness.

Joining Hands as Nations. Susan is offered many marriage proposals as Queen of Narnia.
High Time (try to feel okay). Peter and Susan, back from Narnia and unable to deal.
The Mercy of the Frozen Ground. Tumnus meets Lucy, lost in the woods.
The Second Christmas. Their first Christmas as kings and queens of Narnia.
Treading Imprints in the Snow. Peter is the King, and he receives gifts untold from neighbouring countries.
Breakfast with the King of Archenland. Cor, Corin and their father.
The King's New Clothes. For yuletide. The Pevensies - not quite ready to be Kings and Queens, but trying all the same.
The Pretender
Broken Glasses. Miss Parker and Jarod have sex. YAY PARKER AND JAROD. Of course it is angsty.
World Without End. Just a little thing about Jarod on his adventures, trying to keep the world safe. A crossover with Law and Order: SVU.
RPF:
The Slow Fade, Robert Pattinson/Katie Leung. I adore Katie and Robert. I saw pictures of them cuddling at photoshoots and at premieres for movies not their own, and they just looked so adorable. And then, suddenly, they were never in any picture together ever, and that made me wonder if they had fought. And so this fic was born. Also I blameshleemeri.
The Kind You Take Home, Jamie Bamber/Katee Sackhoff. Uh, angstcakes and on set shenanigans. I LOVE this fic. I loved writing it, and I love the style I used, and I love the way it turned out.
Touching Base. Cute and happy Grace and Tahmoh, because they are both so adorable, and so happy and bouncy and adorkable. After filming the sex in the forrest scene, Grace was like, "so, they gave us these tan coloured patches, and we thought they must be for sitting on! so we shot the scene, and then we realised they were for putting between us!" SO ADORKABLE.
Two Breaths Backward, Half a Step Down. James McAvoy. I have loved him longer than you! (Unless you=sloane)
Smallville:
Not Consolation but Distraction. This is a piece about how Chloe comes to work for Lex.
Almost Free to Come and Go, wherein Lex and Chloe were saved when the cylons attacked. Crossover with BSG.
A Firm Grip on Reality. Post season-four speculation. Spectacularly jossed by season five, but I love this Chloe and this Lex all the same.
A Restaurant with White Tablecloths. This is Chloe and Lex through the years as they come to terms with the fact that they can help one another get to where they want to be. Crossover with DCU.
That City Down Below. This is a crossover with Veronica Mars. There's very little plot, and it's mostly about the sex, and Chloe meeting Logan, and some of my world building where Chloe and Lex plan to take over the world.
Space: Above and Beyond
A fic about Shane Vansen, and about being a marine: I Get By (with a little help from my friends)

You'll notice I've said all along that this is my Fic I've Posted meme, not Fic I've Written - I've written far, far more than this, and I've not posted it not because I don't think they're finished - they're polished, and finished, and some of them are, I feel, amongst the best things I've ever written, but I'll tell the truth and the truth is that you'll never see them, because they're just for one person, and she is the apple in my little internet-based eye. :o)
Okay, maybe two people, but the second person DOESN'T CARE ABOUT DUNE, SO WHATEVER (I love her too, anyway).
